Hospital Visitor Guidance

Taunton & Somerset NHS  Foundation Trust have taken the decision to close all hospitals and units to visitors.

Visiting restrictions across our hospitals and units during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

Following yesterday’s announcement by the Prime Minister and to help us protect our patients, colleagues and the public, we have taken the decision to close all our hospitals and units to visitors. This includes Musgrove Park Hospital, all our mental health units, all community hospitals among others. Yeovil Hospital is also closed to visitors.

The only exceptions are for

  • patients receiving end of life care
  • patients on our children’s wards and the neonatal unit
  • patients with specific conditions such as a dementia or a learning disability.

Individual visiting arrangements will be made for patients receiving end of life care and with specific conditions such as dementia or a learning disability.

Visitors to our children’s unit and neonatal unit must be parent or guardian visitors only and are limited to a maximum of one visitor per patient.

Women in labour can be accompanied by one birthing partner.
