Recycle More

At the end of July Somerset Waste Board confirmed a timetable for the introduction of Recycle More, the new service that will expand recycling in Somerset.

Mendip is due to see the new service at the end of October/early November and is the only part of the county that will have the service in 2020.

This is an important and exciting change to the way we recycle. Most people in Somerset are recycling. This service will make it easier to recycle even more, helping protect your environment, tackle climate change and save taxpayers money.

SWP is also organising several Facebook Q&A sessions for Mendip residents – dedicated slots where we will have staff available to answer questions specifically about Recycle More.

  • Wednesday, 26 August, 7-8PM
  • Tuesday, 22 September, 7-8AM
  • Saturday, 10 October, 11am-12noon
  • Thursday, 29 October, 7-8PM

We are also joining forces with the Community Council for Somerset to run Recycle More Q&A sessions as part of two of the weekly CCS Mendip Talking Café Live events on Facebook. These are hosted on the CCS Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/talkingcafesomerset  These can be viewed ‘live’ at the time, or watched back at a later date.

  • Wednesday, 9 September, 11am-12noon
  • Wednesday, 14 October, 11am-12noon

We aim to circulate regular updates between now and the launch of the service in Mendip in the week beginning Monday 26 October.
